Disadvantages:
- Services such as online banking or shopping doesn’t quite work with the older generation so they are not able benefit from these new services therefore having to stick with what they are used to for example going into banks and also physically having to go shopping. Because they can’t benefit from such services, they see no use in these services and therefore has a less impact on their day to day life.
- Sometimes online shopping can become a hassle for services like the return service which are much easier to take place in store. Sometimes when a customer has to arrange for return they are given a time slot or of when the courier will come to pick up the parcel or sometimes you may have to send back through the post office yourself and this can be a bad thing because either of these can disrupt your plans and it is much easier to be able just walk in store and return you products. It is more time consuming to return product online rather than in store.
- Overseas call centres can cause problems for a lot of people, because they may have a different accent it will make it harder to understand what they are trying say therefore creating some sort of misunderstanding or confusion between the customer and the person taking the call at the call centre. This can lead to all sorts of problems. [4]
