After completing my ebook it has come very clear to me that it is not very easy to create one. Number one reason why it was hard for me was because i didn't actually plan out the different pages before i actually started making the website. This meant that with no plan for action in hand i started the website off at random pages just putting on the information. It was really difficult for me to put up the information aswell because i kept changing the theme of the website because i didn't like it. I changed the theme quite a few times before i could cement upon a final theme which would never be changed and since then i have managed to stick with the theme which is currently present on the website. At first i thought it would be very easy to make a website as i thought that all i had to do was just to put up some information that came from my criteria a,b and c. Personally i would find tasks like making a website a easy but this time round i decided to make it difficult for myself unintentionally. This meant that throughout the course of making the website i would have to face unnecessary and and unwanted obstacles. Every time when i wanted to add something new to the website such as navigation buttons to make the website more accessible i had to go back to every individual page and then change it. After that i had to then test the website again to make sure if everything worked. However at the times of testing not everything went my way as sometimes i made some really bad mistakes which could have forced me to drop marks for criteria D, which was making of the website and the layout. Also for multimedia such as videos were just tagged along on to the website whilst in the making which took time out of the initial making process. If i had all the multimedia components ready downloaded before hand this could have saved a lot of time enabling me to work more efficiently. One of the major issue i faced was that my font size was quite large at the start and when i had realized this it sort of had been a little late, this is because i wanted to have minimum scrolling in all my pages, but due to working on multiple computers with different resolutions it wasn't that hard to spot in the end but i did have to go to each individual page and then change them one by one. From my point of view i think i had included a fair share of multimedia components such as videos of my own and off the internet. At first it was really hard to think of ideas of how to make a good video so then i thought i could make a video through windows live movie maker. i have included in the website at least 3 of videos, animations, pictures, audio and of course the textual information. I have made sure most of these features were in the form or context of primary sources and secondary source. This means i used a mixture of sources to try and gain the highest possible mark for criteria E. I wanted my website to look the best possible and wanted it to represent an ebook. This is why i decided to number the pages of each section so that the reader knows where they are. This allows the user to maximize this information and allows them to navigate around the website as fast and efficiently as possible. I also added on the other side of the page where the page number is placed, what they are reading right now. For example if they were reading the section in digital divide, economical factor, local impact. Well they obviously know that they are in the digital divide section but i added in this form ECONOMICAL FACTOR:LOCAL IMPACT. so that the reader knows where they are currently instead of having to read through the paragraphs to find out where they are. Also this saved some time in having to put a title on every page which may not look as appealing.
